Today I am out dragging the hose around, watering our clover, crabgrass, and morning glory-infested lawn. My mom, on the other hand, is having her front yard professionally re-done as I type. I am dreaming of our new yard, which won't happen for a year or so:

Funny thing happened at the CNU Conference we went to in Florida. I sat next to a landscape designer at breakfast and we got talking about residential vs. commercial design. He said he doesn't like helping residential clients. Often homeowners don't know what they want, or they want conflicting things, and they argue with each other while you are trying to sort out what is the best solution. We commiserated about how funny it is to help married couples. But I still think that the "before" and "after" is worth the sifting, soul-searching, and marital counseling:
